Here, a medieval robber knight castle with the name of Rudelsburg glows in full infrared shine. What looks like a beautiful autumn day in the photo, was taken in May of 2024 with my infrared camera and a Kolari IR Chrome filter. Rich green thus transforms into bright red-orange.

The castle is located above the river Saale, about twenty minutes drive from the city of Naumburg. One or the other might know the small town of Bad Kösen as a spa. Bad Kösen is located right in the middle between Naumburg and Rudelsburg.

The castle is in good historical company. Also not far, maybe an hour drive, is Weimar. Just around the corner are the battlefields of the Battle of Jena and Auerstedt.
