Germany is not an easy patch for street shooting. It is different at the CSD parade in Cologne. Here everyone just wants to be photographed.

The parade lasts a few hours and there are good chances of great pictures in many places. I have only put a few of the photos in the gallery here.

I photographed with the Canon EOS R5 and the small 1.8/50 mm Canon lens. A pretty good combination for street shooting, if it absolutely has to be the big R5. With the 50 mm lens, the camera is hardly noticeable and is not too heavy.

However, a fundamental shortcoming of the electronic viewfinder in the R5 is the switching on, which is delayed by fractions of a second, when you raise the camera to your eye. I always feel like I'm just that fraction of a second too late.

All cameras with electronic viewfinder that I had in my hand so far had the described shortcoming. I therefore think that optical viewfinders in mirror reflex or rangefinder cameras continue to be superior in the discipline of street shots.
