At the end of May 2025, I spent a few days in Bavaria's beautiful Beschtesgadener Land. And in my bag I carried my infrared camera with the Kolari IR Chrome filter in front of the lens.

End of May just marked the transition from winter to spring in the heights of the mountains. It snowed partially. And in some hidden corners there was still a lot of deep snow.

The somewhat changeable weather provided atmospheric infrared images combining snow, rain, fog and clouds. As always, the red appearing in the photos is in truth green.

The Watzmann Wife looms up in the sky. The contrast of the light grey rock with the red vegetation is more impressive in the infrared image than without infrared.

In neighboring Ramsau, the Hintersee offered a special play of colors. The water is very clear and shimmers greenish. The infrared effect reinforces this impression.
