In black and white, the facilities in the Landschaftspark Duisburg‑Nord are reminiscent of graphic works of art. I also did not include the sky in the photos shown here. This reinforces this effect in my opinion.

Heaven and horizon give orientation in photos, but may sometimes they stand in the way of an artistic effect. I tried to make the photos look extra graphic and pure flat. The omission of the sky, especially in a whole series of photos, places the emphasis much more clearly on the shapes and the color or the gray gradations.

I took these photos with the Pentax K-3 III Monochrome. For the frames without heaven or other environment, the superb Pentax-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited telephoto lens has served me well.
